Beijing-based Kylin Game started open beta testing of the new expansion, “World War,” for its historical-themed MMORPG Genghis Khan on April 30, qq.com reports. The expansion features four new playing modes, six characters, skills, equipment and a horseback fighting system, according to the report.
In March this year, International Games System (IGS), the Taiwan operator Genghis Khan said it will release the game as scheduled after Changyou (Nasdaq:CYOU) demanded it suspend plans to operate the game in Taiwan due to alleged copyright infringements.

Kylin Game is in talks to receive an investment from Sina (Nasdaq:SINA), Kylin Game CEO Shang Jin said at an annual executive meeting last week, qq.com reported February 6 quoting an unnamed Kylin Game employee.

The unnamed employee said that Beijing-based Kylin Game is in talks with other potential investors but would prefer Sina. Kylin Game does not plan to sell a controlling stake, the employee said.

Kylin Game co-operates its 2.5D MMORPG Genghis Khan with Shanda (Nasdaq:SNDA) division Shanda Online Holdings.
